Feb 27, 2014 · No bubbles coming to the carb inlet, but I see bubbles going out of the outlet to the return line. So I figured out my problem thanks to my new clear fuel lines. However, do you think the problem is in the carbs, or the problem is with the zip ties, I also used a zip tie device to get them on tightly plus the hoses are all new and snug.

Incidently, the hand primer pump is also a possible culprit. Otherwise, flooring the accelerator will shorten the cranking time as the full throttle fuel flow will expel the bubbles sooner.--
  • check the fuel filter caps. people don't like to crank them all the way down because you can break them, but if there is a gap it will suck air. mainly the one on the frame rail. if that doesn't do it, you may have an issue with the sending unit. they are thin metal tubes welded to a plate and sometimes, the welds leak and even with a full tank, it will suck air. the only way to test that is to pull it out, plug one end and blow air through it and see if it bubbles out anywhere.
