Black Hills offers excellent .22-250 ammunition. This cartridge, a .250-3000 necked down to .224 in the heady early days of high velocity, will break 3,700 fps with the 50-grain A-Max.

Dec 19, 2007 · The .22-250 is a less common round, made more expensive by that fact, as well as the fact that there's more powder and brass, there's just more cartridge. Loads range from 35gr varmint grenades moving at 4200 fps all the way to 80gr match bullets sliding in at just under 3200 fps.
in most factory 22-250 are 1:14. So you have any doubt, please contact the manufacturer of the bullet before wasting your time and money. I find a 50gr Hornady V-Max in my 22-250 with 37.5 grains of Varget hard to beat out of my Savage Varmint rifle with one hole groups at 100 yards.
Does anyone have any favorite 22-250 loads that they can share? I recently bought a Remington 700 in this caliber and have just started to load for it. I loaded 34 gr of H4895 with some 55gr FMJ bullets that I had on hand.

  • Never had a jam, never had a fail to fire. I tried another brand of HV+ ammo, and the accuracy was terrible. The Winchester XHV is only a tiny bit less accurate than my best accuracy ammo. I upgraded my Ruger 10/22 to a BX trigger and began to experience some fail to fires with my reference MiniMag ammo.

  • most of the smaller bore, 223, 22-250, 243, 6mm, 257 will certainly shoot moa and on a nice calm day into the .5s most of the time. the smallest 5 shot group i have ever personally shot with a #1 is .315 with my shilen barreled 257 roberts "v". nearly all my hunting #1s that i have worked with shoot moa.
  • Mar 04, 2010 · I set the measure at 36 grains for my 22-250 and the consistency was the same which aids in accuracy. That is as good as most ball powders in my measure and a couple of 1/10 grains won't impact accuracy or velocity in a typical hunting rifle.
