For the manufacturing, standard SOI processing, including photolithograpy and inductively coupled plasma etching, was used. Doped waveguides were prepared via ion implantation.
Examples of use cases include directional couplers, nonlinear optical waveguides, optically large systems, metamaterials, and more. The COMSOL Multiphysics® software offers capabilities for modeling such systems and creating specialized simulation applications.
